It wasn’t a phase

The records changed. The love of guitars never left.

I was around ten when I borrowed Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction on tape from Uncle Dean. Rock and metal kept opening doors after that. Queens of the Stone Age and Clutch became particular favourites, alongside everything from blues and classic rock to stoner rock and heavier music.

People used to tell me it was a phase. For some people, perhaps it was. For me, it became part of life. I have loved finding places that understand that feeling, especially Blårock in Tromsø and Lebowski Bar in Reykjavík. You remember a room that has its own character.

Heavy Rotation is how that feeling belongs at Lebrewski. The soundtrack can start a conversation between generations: something a parent remembers, something their child has just discovered. It should add to an evening, not become a test of belonging. Come for the music, come for the food, or come because your friends chose the table. There should be a welcome for all of you.
