My friend Martin Neil took me to Junkyard in Nottingham shortly after it opened, and that was where my interest in craft beer really took hold. Trying different styles and flavours became part of going out. Neon Raptor is another local favourite in that story.
Travel added more. Beer and oysters at Gahan House in Halifax, a birthday meal at Asia Restaurant & Bar, and many visits to Kushi-ya back in Nottingham all fed the same curiosity. I like finding something new, then thinking about what made the whole experience work—not just the individual drink or dish.
At Lebrewski, I want to bring that curiosity to beer, wine, spirits and food pairings without making the bar feel like an examination. A familiar lager should be as welcome an order as something unusual, and an alcohol-free choice deserves just as much thought. The best drinks list helps people enjoy themselves. It should invite a conversation, not make anybody feel that they ordered the wrong thing.
